I've seen many Vivienne Westwood shows in my time. She is the
woman who awakened my tartan/ripped tights/crown wearing inner rock star
(together with Blondie's influence).
So understandably, today's show at LFW took me somewhat by surprise. Not to say that Viv is predictable, anything but in fact, but her S/S 2013 collection sent me into a sort of pleasurable trace/left me feeling hyperventilating with excitement and freedom!
Being Russian and somewhere deep deep down in my psyche a girly-girl (flowers/candy/pinks blah blah) these outfits really made me think, in a good way, and in fact reassess my whole approach to rock-chic dressing.
Here's why:
Totally off the wall, totally rocking, totally loving the
flowers + hair situation going on. And the green face-paint is a great way to
say: I don't like you - great break-up outfit!
Headscarf. Flowers. Reminds me of nan when she was young and
totally hot. Too hot in fact.
It's like Marilyn reincarnated as a brunette!
Sequence + swimsuit+cowboy boots. When you are part of the party
you don't want the party to stop.
